Become a Forest Guardian

We recognize contributors of $5,000 or more as Forest Guardians and encourage you to participate in Earth Train programs, explore the region, and serve as mentors to youth and interns. As an added perk, we offer you comfortable accommodations in Centro Mamoní for brief or extended visits at your option.

Contributions can be earmarked for the following projects among others. Listed beside each project is a suggested donation to insure we are able to complete the project.

  • Tree planting - $100 allows us to plant and care for 10 trees
  • Building a nursery - $1000
  • Supporting Kuna Coast and Forest Guide - $1000 allows two Kuna youth to be trained as forest guides
  • Support local volunteers and interns - $1000 for room and board for a student to study and work with us for three months
  • Support international volunteers and interns - $1000-1,500 or air mileage allows young people from around the world to volunteer or intern with us.
  • Development of sustainable agricultural plots in Centro Mamoní and in the surrounding communities including rural schools - $2,000
  • Telecommunications equipment - $2,500
  • Student/Scientist residential facilities - $5,000
  • Student/Scientist conference center - $15,000
  • A biology lab with equipment - $15,000
  • Casa Arias Restoration - $45,000 allows for the completion of the Gallery space and a workshop to provide visitors with a hands on educational experience of creating local crafts.
  • Works of art that can be sold in our gallery - $2000 ensures the completion of a creative piece
