Come VisitRanging in elevation between 1,200 and 1,800 feet on the Pacific side of the Continental Divide, the valley has a unique microclimate. The dry season that parches most of the Pacific side is mediated by moist air flowing into the eastern end of the valley from the Caribbean, keeping it cool and green with rainfall year-round. Thus the valley offers a playground for a variety of outdoor activities, including swimming, kayaking, and other outdoor sports, horticulture, and wildlife observation, especially bird watching. The area also offers myriad opportunities for engaging with the nearby Kuna communities and the Emberá of the Chagres - an invaluable and unique experience in cultural mixing.
